Dance Delight For Kids
Thousands of pounds were raised at Liverpool Unites In Dance which took place on Sunday 10th July at the BT Convention Centre, Liverpool.

Over 400 children from different dance groups across Merseyside battled it out to be crowned the winners for 201.

Liverpool ECHO editor, Mr Alastair Machray said: “Dance is taking off, schools are opening up, classes are starting, and Merseysiders young and old are getting more and more involved. That’s why we’ve launched a new dance page, Got to Dance, every Friday in the ECHO. And it’s why we’re so delighted to be supporting this year’s Liverpool Unites in Dance event.

“Liverpool Unites in Dance is about young people doing positive things and celebrating the sheer joy of youth. It’s all about energy, enthusiasm and passion for dance.“What makes it even better is that everyone involved is helping Liverpool Unites reach their target of raising £500,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.”

Judges were Norah Button, director and principal of Liverpool Theatre school, Jane Brown of St. Helens Theatre Royal, Karen Gallagher, director of Merseyside Dance Initiative and Katie Mercer, Liverpool Unites fundraising manager.

Show organiser Cathryn O’Grady said: “I would like to thank the dancers who took part in the show and the teachers for their hard work. Thanks to the parents who came to support their children and Liverpool Unites not only on the night but to rehearsals. The show was a great success.”
